Photo of the Week: The Village of Hóra Sfakíon, Crete, Greece
Hóra Sfakíon is a tiny village in southern Crete with about 300 residents. Getting there is an easy, direct bus ride from Chania with some amazing views along the way.
From Hóra Sfakíon, one can take a ferry to the southernmost point in Europe, Gavdos Island, or on to the neighboring villages of Loutro and Agia Roumeli. The color of the Libyan Sea is quite breathtaking.
For me, it’s always been a transit point, as I move on to Agia Roumeli, but for many it’s the ideal place to stop and stay for awhile.
