Follow-Up to My Fundraiser for the European Peace Walk

Walking along the Hungary-Austria border

European PeaceWalkers walking along the Hungary-Austria border.

As my last post about the European Peace Walk, I want to thank again all those who donated to me on GoFundMe and supported me along the way.  If you’re a faithful reader, you know that the walk didn’t work out so well.

During the experience, I worried about letting people down and especially those who had donated.  In spite of not walking the second half, I did my best to document the “alternative” experience.

My gratitude was immense before the journey but with our route passing through Hungary during a particularly tense time of the Syrian Refugee Crisis (as Hungary was erecting a fence at the border), my gratitude for all the blessings in my life became even greater.

With the remaining funds you so generously gave, I made a donation of $250 to Women for Women International, a non-profit charity which helps struggling women and refugees recover from the ravages of war, regain their dignity, and get on their feet financially and emotionally.  My donation was matched by a corporate sponsor for a total donation of $500.  Your gift will continue on, and help many women, and thus their families.

Thank you all again for your support.
