A Day at the Beach in Russell, Bay of Islands, New Zealand

A Rare Black Oystercatcher

A Rare Black Oystercatcher

The weather was incredibly nice again today and in keeping with my budget I thought I would go to the beach.  It turns out that I was the only one around with such an idea which made the beach in Russell my own private paradise.  I took the ferry from Paihia to Russell, walked about twenty minutes to the north to Long Beach and Waitata Bay and spent the day lollygagging in the sun and reading The Fault in our Stars by John Green.  The pictures say it better than words.  I really, really, really didn’t want to leave.
